Nob Hill Neighborhood (94108, 94109, and 94133) (8c)
Nob Hill is one of San Francisco's most well known signature neighborhoods. The neighborhood's reputation of privilege dates back to the times of the Gold Rush and railroad barons who built their mansions here. Luxury hotels now stand in the place of the former mansions and include the Fairmont, Mark Hopkins, Stanford, and Huntington. The California, Powell/Mason and Powell/Hyde cable car lines all converge on the hilltop making it easily accessible. There are homes and apartments with great City and Bay views. Both the Financial District and North Beach are within walking distance.
This neighborhood used to be the Pacific Heights of San Francisco and was home to the Standford, Hopkins, Huntington and Fair families. Herb Caen used to live in the Brocklebank building, which is across the street from the Fairmont Hotel. This neighborhood was also home to the famous "San Francisco Twins", Marian and Vivian Brown, known for wearing identical outfits.

Huntington Park is a beautiful park at the top of the hill with fountains, playground, benches and grass areas. After the 1906 earthquake and fire destroyed the home of Arabella Huntington, widow to railroad baron Collis P. Huntington, she donated the land to the City to be used as a public park.
