Mission Bay Neighborhood (94103 & 94107) (9d)
Mission Bay is the neighborhood roughly south of King and Townsend, north of Mariposa, east of Townsend and 280 and west of the Bay. There is a lot of open space and a fair amount of development going on in this area as UCSF Extension has been expanding. There are a number of industrial buildings and a small commercial district around Third St. There also are some residential buildings some offering Bay views.
Mission Creek is a river in San Francisco that has become a basic channel of water leading out to China Basin. It basically is the northern border of the Mission Bay Neighborhood. It historically was used as an off loading point for bananas in the 20s to 50s where there was a large banana processing plant.
UCSF Medical Center is an extension of UCSF. It is located at 1500 Owens St. near Campus.
