_The Inner Richmond is a neighborhood just south of California Street and north of Fulton Street between Park Presidio and Arguello Street. This area has dozens of ethnic restaurants and small businesses. The main drags in the Inner Richmond are Balboa, Clement and Geary streets with Geary being the busiest. On Balboa Street in a span of a few blocks especially near 4th and 6th Streets you can encounter a meeting of old and new San Francisco establishments.

Boudin Bakery has a small cafe on the side of its central operations windowless nondescript building on 10th Ave and Geary that doles out its famous crusty sourdough loaves. Boudin Bakery is San Francisco's oldest continuously running bakery having started in 1849. They are open Monday through Saturday and are located at 399 10th Ave at Geary, (415) 221-1210.
Burma Superstar has been offering great Burmese dishes since 1992 such as their tea leaf salad. They are open for lunch and dinner and located at 309 Clement St. near 4th Ave, (415) 387-2147.
Cinderella Russian Bakery and Cafe is a great place to sample piroshki, borscht soups, chocolate rum rolls and pastry puffs. Their piroshki is claimed by many of San Francisco's Russian population to be as good as what you get in the old country. They are located at 436 Balboa Street near 6th Ave, (415) 751-9690.
Good Luck Dim Sum offers a wide variety of dumplings and other dim sum specialties at rock bottom prices. You literally can feed a family of four for under $20. They are only open Wed through Monday 7am to 6:30pm and are located at 736 Clement St.near 9th Ave (415) 386-3388.
Haig's Delicacies is a grocer that has been around since 1956 and offers Mediterranean specialties. You can find many homemade Mediterranean foods as well as difficult to find imported spices and sweets. They open at 9:30am and are located at 642 Clement St. near 8th Ave, (415) 752-6283.
Japanese Tea Garden is a beautiful Japanese tea house in the center of Golden Gate Park in a tranquil Japanese garden setting. Although technically not part of the Inner Richmond is located just south of it. It offers many traditional Japanese teas, snacks and an opportunity to participate in a traditional tea ceremony (tea ceremony made by appointment only). New May Wah is a specialty grocery shop that carries almost every Asian ingredient you would ever need. They offer sauces, fresh noodles and still swimming sea food. They are open from 7:30am to 8pm daily and are located at 707 Clement St. near 8th Ave (415) 221-9826.
Schubert's Bakery has been in business since 1911 and offers German and other European baked goods including princess cakes to Viennese fruit torts. They are located at 521 Clement St near 6th Ave, (415) 752-1580.
Sushi Bistro is a sushi establishment which pushes the envelope of Asian cuisine by adding ingredients such as jalapeno pepper to its "monster-in-laws" spicy albacore maki roll. They are located at 431 Balboa near 6th Ave, (415) 933-7100.
Wing Lee Bakery is another well known Inner Richmond dim sum specialty bakery that provides excellent food at a bargain price. Be prepared to stand in line though as there isn't much room to sit down. They are open from 7am to 7pm daily and located at 503 Clement St. at 7th Ave, (415) 668-9481.
