Forest Hill is the neighborhood south of Noriega and San Marcos, north of Taraval and Dewey Blvd. east of 12th Ave and Mendosa, and west of Laguna Honda and Dewey Blvd. This is an upper class neighborhood. This neighborhood's streets, entries and stairways were landscaped originally by Mark Daniels. Many of the houses and blocks reflect the work of some of the greatest architects including Bernard Maybeck, Julia Morgan, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Henry Hill. Homeowners within the Forest Hill limits pay an association fee annually for maintenance of the landscaping and streets. There are very few restaurants and stores in this neighborhood, and they almost all are located at the intersection of Dewey, Woodside, and Laguna Honda. This neighborhood also provides great public transportation of both street cars and bus lines. The Forest Hill Station serves the K, L, M, and T streetcars, with their quick access to Downtown.
