Corona Heights Neighborhood (94114) (5g)
Corona Heights is located south of Roosevelt Way, north of Market St and Clayton, east of Clayton and west of Castro. This is an upper class neighborhood and its real estate prices command a fairly high price for the wonderful views it offers. It contains many modernist style condos similar to those found on Twin Peaks, some Mediterranean style homes on the east side of the park, and a number of beautiful Victorians and Stick homes on Ord and Douglass streets and along Corbett Avenue. There are some corner stores here and you can literally walk into the central Castro within approximately five to ten minutes.
Corona Heights Park is a large park built on a peak known as "the Fist." There are steps leading up to it, but warning they are not supported by handrails. The peak of the hill can also be very windy, but it offers an unobstructed panoramic view of the city of San Francisco from downtown to Twin Peaks. There is a fully enclosed dog run here, with no grass but only woodchips, and tennis courts. The main entrance to the park is off of Roosevelt Way but there are a few hidden paths off of 15th St. Parkscan Info. Review: Yelp.
