Alamo Square Neighborhood (94115 & 94117) (6e)

Alamo Square is a not well defined neighborhood considered to be Webster Street on the east, Golden Gate Avenue on the north, Divisadero Street on the west, and Fell Street on the south. It is characterized by Victorian architecture and Alamo Square Park. This neighborhood is made up of many young people and upper-middle-class homeowners, and a diverse older population. Divisadero Street, which divides Alamo Square from the North Panhandle, is home to a number of small businesses, restaurants and bars. One thing to note about Alamo Square is that parking can be quite challenging and the local residences have been trying to get a separate designation permit just for its neighborhood area.

Alamo Square Park includes a playground and a tennis court.  It is frequented by dog owners and neighbors as it provides views of the Transamerica Pyramid, and the tops of both the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. Review: Yelp.
The Painted Ladies are a row of famous Victorian houses painted each a different pastel colors that border the park.  They have been seen in Full House and other films.  It is also known as Postcard Row and can be found at 710-720 Steiner Street. Reviews: SFGate/Whiting, and TripAdvisor
